Services
9Family Support and Parent WorkshopsCenter of Life helps families in Hazelwood get stronger through workshops and support services. They teach parents about child development, how to help kids in school, managing money, and finding community resources. The team connects families to helpful services and hosts monthly meetings where all family members can learn together. They offer workshops on parenting skills and other topics that help families handle everyday challenges. Services are available Monday through Friday during business hours or by appointment.
KRUNK Movement Teen Music & Arts ProgramThe KRUNK Movement is a free year-round music program for high school students. Teens learn hip-hop songwriting, music production, art, and technology skills. They work on music albums about social justice and health topics. Students get paid $9 per hour while learning professional music industry skills. The program includes field trips and team building activities. Students create music that addresses real-world issues and helps their community.
Community Support ServicesThe Community Engagement program helps Hazelwood residents with crisis support, getting benefits, finding resources, and connecting to services. Staff can help you with basic needs like food and clothing, utility bills, finding jobs, housing help, and mental health support. They also offer wellness workshops and community events. Available Monday through Friday during business hours or by appointment. Contact community@centeroflife.org for help.
COL Basketball LeagueThe COL Basketball League is a summer recreational basketball program for teens and adults in the Hazelwood community. Players must be 16 or older to join. The league brings neighbors together for friendly competition and support. Games are played at Lewis Playground during the summer season. This is a great way to stay active, make friends, and be part of your community through sports.

ALTA Youth Leadership Training ProgramHigh school students can join this free program to learn leadership skills and job training while getting paid $9 per hour. Students work on projects and learn important life skills to prepare for their future careers.
Community Support Services for HazelwoodThe Community Engagement program helps Hazelwood residents with many life challenges. Staff can help you find food, clothing, and housing. They help people sign up for benefits and get utility assistance. They also help connect you to mental health support and job opportunities. The program offers wellness workshops like Art as Healing. They provide crisis support when you need help right away. Services are available Monday through Friday during business hours or by appointment. Contact community@centeroflife.org for help.
Fusion After School ProgramFusion is a free after-school program for kids in grades K-8. Students get help with homework in small groups and do fun activities like science, music, and reading. Each child gets a meal and snack. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 7:15 PM during the school year. In summer, it becomes Camp Hazelwood, an all-day summer camp. Parents can register their kids for the 2025-26 school year now.
Social Justice Resource CenterThe Social Justice Resource Center helps protect people's rights and dignity. They support community leaders who work to fix unfair treatment and teach others about justice issues. The center provides tools and resources for people of all ages to work together and make positive changes in their community. They focus on helping immigrants understand their rights and connecting people with legal help and advocacy programs.
COL Jazz Teen Music ProgramCOL Jazz is a free music program for high school students ages 14-18. Teen musicians learn to play instruments, perform in bands, and record music together. The program helps students get better at music through coaching and practice. Students also go on trips and do team activities to build friendships. The program runs Monday through Thursday from 4-7 PM during the school year. Students even get paid $9 per hour to participate. Email jazz@centeroflife.org for more information.
