About this service
Take a 4-hour guided kayak trip through restored marshes at Artist Boat Coastal Heritage Preserve on Galveston Island. You'll learn about habitat restoration and conservation while paddling through pristine coastal prairie. The adventure includes a watercolor art demonstration and time to paint your own artwork. All equipment is provided including tandem kayaks, life jackets, and paddles. Adventures start with a short 0.3-mile walk through the preserve. Children must be at least 7 years old and under 13 must kayak with an adult.

Nature Journaling Workshops
Learn to draw and write about nature in a special journal. This program has four 2-hour classes with a teacher named Irmi. Each class is at a different outdoor location on Galveston Island's west end. You'll learn to use watercolors, sketching, and words to record what you see in nature. No art experience needed. All supplies are included and yours to keep - sketchbook, paints, brushes, and more. Classes happen once a month on Saturday mornings. You'll visit different nature areas like ponds, bird watching spots, and outdoor classrooms.
Private Kayak Adventure
Artist Boat offers private guided kayak trips for groups of 1-25 people. These trips are perfect for families, scouts, and other groups who want to guarantee spots for everyone. You can choose your own date and destination based on what staff is available. The trips include all the gear and guidance you need. Groups must book ahead of time by calling. This is a great way to explore nature on the water with your whole group.
